A prostitution sting in Pomona Friday netted seven arrests.
The Pomona Police Department‘s Major Crimes Task Force conducted the operation in the Holt Avenue corridor, which is known for prostitution activity, police said.
The operation used plainclothes officers, which resulted in six arrests for prostitution and one arrest for loitering with intent to commit prostitution, said Pomona police Officer Angela Torres.
One of the people was also arrested for suspicion of violating a court order, she said.
The court order violation was a result of the suspect returning to the corridor after being served with a “stay away” order issued by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge, according to Torres.
“The (stay away) order is reserved for individuals that have been identified through the court process as habitual offenders,” Torres said. “This is one of many tools utilized by the Pomona Police Department to address prostitution activity along the Holt Corridor.”
